Nokia 6600i slide phone launched in India

Nokia has launched the Nokia 6600i slide phone in India, on November 24, 2009.The phone is available in stores in two colors, Black and Silver, at a price of Rs 13,000.

The Nokia 6600i slide has a 2.2-inch color TFT screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

It has a 5 megapixel camera with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, 8x zoom, and double LED flash. There is also an accelerometer that changes the aspect to either landscape or potrait, depending on which is the best aspect.

Users can record videos in VGA quality at 15 frames per second.

The Nokia 6600i slide features tap commands that allow users to activate or disable functions – such as activating the display screen or silencing the ringer – with a single tap.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth version 2.0, MicroUSB connector, and GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD. The Nokia 6600i works on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 (2G) and UMTS 850 / 2100 (3G) networks.

The phone comes with an internal memory of 20 MB, expandable upto 16GB via micro SD card.

There is also FM radio with RDS, Nokia music player, stereo headset, and support for .mp3, .wma, .aac, eAAC, eAAC+ audio file formats.

Messaging features include speed dialling for SMS, SMS storage of up to 60 messages on phone, 60 messages on SIM card, MMS version 1.3, automatic resizing of images for MMS, and audio messaging via Nokia Xpress application.

The phone comes without GPS but offers Nokia Maps.

The Nokia 6600i slide comes with a Li-Ion 1000 mAh (BL-4U) battery with Standby time up to 348 h (2G) / up to 300 h (3G) and Talk time up to 4 h (2G) / up to 3 h (3G).
