Nokia has launched three new music-centric phones, the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, Nokia 5330 XpressMusic, and the Nokia 5030 phone.
Nokia 5730 XpressMusic phone
The high-end Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, likely to be available for $357 or 280 EUR (Rs. 18,500), is a goodlooking music phone with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS.
The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic phone is based on the S60 third Edition Feature Pack 2 operating system.
The display of the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic phone allows users to open applications, such as Ovi Maps, Facebook, N-Gage gaming platform, and music players.
The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, and 8 GB of memory that can be expanded to 16GB via an 8GB micro SD card.
The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic allows users to access their corporate e-mail, and e-mail from web-based providers, such as Gmail and Yahoo, and edit Word documents.
Nokia 5330 XpressMusic phone
The other music phone that Nokia has unveiled is the 5330 XpressMusic phone.
The 5330 XpressMusic phone has a slider form factor which can be moved up to display the keypad. The phone is expected to be competitively priced at 160 EUR or $200 (Rs 10,300).
The phone has virtual music keys that appear when the music player is on. The Nokia 5330 Xpress Music also offers 26 hours of music playback.
The mid-range 5330 XpressMusic has a 3.2 megapixel camera, with USB 2.0 support, and a 3.5 mm jack.
Nokia 5030 music phone
The third phone that Nokia has unveiled, the low-end Nokia 5030 is a decent-looking phone with an embedded FM radio antenna, powerful loudspeaker, and ten hours of talktime.
The Nokia 5030 is estimated to be priced at 40 EUR or $50 (Rs. 2,500) making it a good purchase for those looking for a basic phone with good music features.
The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is likely to be available in the second quarter of 2009, the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic in the third quarter, and the Nokia 5030 in the second quarter of 2009.
At the launch of the three music phones, Nokia also said that it plans to provide access to its Nokia Music Store to more countries.
Currently Nokia’s Comes With Music service is available in UK, Singapore, Italy, and Australia. The service will soon be available in Mexico, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, and South Africa. The service will not go to the US for the time being.
With Nokia’s Comes with Music service, users can access as much music as they want for a certain prescribed time period, and download them to their phones or PCs. They can keep the music they have downloaded even after the subscription period is over.
There is no word on when the new Nokia XPressMusic phones would be launched in India.
