Nokia has launched its new Nokia 5530 XpressMusic games edition with around 20 free games in the US.
All the other specifications of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic games edition remains the same as the original Nokia 5530 XpressMusic.
The phone will be available at $299, $10 more than the price of the original one.
The Nokia 5530 games edition offers 20 full games free with the device, which includes a version of American Idol as well. The other games include Gameloft’s Guitar Rock Tour 2, Pro Golf World Tour 2010 and Brain Challenge 2. The EA selection includes American Idol, Monopoly, Sims 3, Tetris and Bejeweled.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic games edition has a 2.9-inch resistive touchscreen with 360 x 640 pixel resolution and a full QWERTY keyboard. It measures 104 x 49 x 13 mm in size and weighs 107 grams.
The phone is available in two colors, Black with red accents and White with Blue accents.
It has a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. The camera offers various modes, such as white balance modes, capture modes, scene modes, color tone modes, and ight sensitivity modes. The phone also comes with a a dedicated camera key and photo editor that allows users to edit photos in-device.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic phone is powered by an ARM11, 434 MHz processor and runs Symbian 9.4 OS.
The 5530 XpressMusic phone does not offer 3G connectivity, but is equipped with Wi-Fi. While not as high-end as the Nokia 5800, this GSM quad-band phone is capable of global roaming at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
Other specs include Bluetooth, microUSB slots and a headphone connector. The phone comes with 70 MB internal memory and microSD slot for external storage.
The phone comes with a BL-4U 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery with the following specs:
Talktime: Up to 4 hours 54 min (GSM)
Standby time: up to 351 hours (GSM)
Video playback time: up to 3 hours 45 min (QCIF, 15 fps)
Music playback time: up to 27 hours
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was the predecessor of the Nokia 5530. The success of the Nokia 5800 encouraged the manufacturers to go ahead with different versions of the handset.
The second touchscreen model from Nokia, sports a smaller display and a 4GB microSD card, has no GPS and doesn’t support 3G. Compared to 5800, it’s more compact and comfortable to carry. The music capabilities of the device are exceptional as well.
The company has not revealed any information about an imminent launch of the phone in India and the amount at which it will be priced.
