Nokia 5233 phone launched in India

Nokia has launched a low-cost phone in the Indian market, the Nokia 5233, at a price of Rs 7,850.Available in combinations of White/Red, White/Silver, Black/Dark silver, with changeable battery covers in diferent colors, the Nokia 5233 is quite a good looking phone for the price point at which it has been launched.

It also has some good specs despite not having 3G or Wifi.

Last month, Samsung had launched its Corby Pop C3510 (Genoa) in India, from its extremely successful Corby series,  at a price of Rs 7000. The phone came with some pretty good features.

Samsung also launched the Samsung Metro 5200 phone in India at a price of Rs 7439.

Nokia 5233 main specifications

The Nokia 5233 has a 3.2-inch touch screen display with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels (nHD) with 16:9 aspect ratio. The Samsung Corby Pop C3510 has a 2.8-inch capacitive TFT touch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

The phone measures 111 x 51.7 x 14.5/15.5 mm, and weighs 113 g, without stylus, and 115 g, with stylus.

The Samsung Corby Pop is smaller at 103.9 x 55.4 x 12.9 mm and weighs only 92.2 kg, but it does not come with a stylus.

The Nokia 5233 offers an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and handwriting recognition.

The phone is powered by a 434 MHz ARM processor and runs Symbian S60v5 operating system.
