Google Android OS has become the most talked about technology in town. With every new version of Android, Google brings in more features and excitement for its users. Android 2.3 Gingerbread has not yet hit the markets, and people have already started talking about its next version – Honeycomb. So, what’s next?
This time, a video of Android’s media player has been leaked on the Internet that gives few details about Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The video gives indication of certain UI elements that will come along with Honeycomb. It is a 50-second footage that gives demonstration of the new features of Android’s default music app.
The video, which is on YouTube, shows an entirely revamped album library that works in portrait and landscape mode. People who have used the player (maybe its developers) have said it’s better for music organization. The media player supports streaming music but there are rumors that this feature doesn’t work very well yet.

The UI of the new application is very colorful and eye-catching. The transitions and album stacking seem very similar to iPhone’s iPod music player, which is more readable. As per the leaked information, there are more direct, on-screen controls on Honeycomb. This means, Google is relying less on the hardware buttons this time.
According to Fortune, Google has been working on this project for quite some time. The company is said to even have secured the rights required to stream music from the cloud to your handset.
Well, Google has not given any words on its official launch. But there are speculations that the new music app would be launched with Android 3.0. There are lots of hopes in the market that Honeycomb will bring much-needed graphical and usability updates to the OS. Well, we will have to wait and watch till it’s been launched.
