My Book Pro Editions offer new storage solutions in India

The Indian tech scene has got a new addition. Editions of My Book Pro targeted at the Indian market place, have been unveiled by Western Digital. 

The new products are belied to provide Indian customers high end, reliable, and efficient storage. Aimed at luring the small office home office customers, the My Book Pro combines triple interfaces including FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0; features backup and system recovery software, and is available in capacities of 250 and 500 GB. 

Western Digital has said that the drive is designed for reliability with an enclosure that employs shock protection for the drive inside and is well-vented to ensure proper air circulation for cool drive operation and long-term reliability. 

The editions - My Book Pro Edition and My Book Pro Edition II -have incorporated powerful EMC Retrospect Express backup and system recovery software with a customized setup wizard to deliver easy-to-use and proven data protection capabilities, said expert reports. Enabled by an intelligent drive management system, it is automatically powered on and off with the computer. Further, the safe shutdown feature ensures that the data is saved before shutting down, and LED activity lights with a unique capacity gauge make these drives easy to use. 

Reports quoting Western Digital senior officials said that the additions to the My Book family of external drives are aimed at a unique mid-market segment, thus completing the company's wide range of offerings for various market segments. Priced between Rs 17,500 and Rs 27,450 in the Indian mart, the products will be available through Mediaman Infotech.
