Cricket fever: MSN India pads up for a virtual game

7 March 2007: The cricket fever is on. And, MSN India is all padded up for the big game. MSN India is luring the cricket crazy public with its full coverage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 on its personal Cricket Channel. The channel is accessible on the internet and on WAP-supported mobile phones.

On the menu is all the action from the Caribbean. MSN has lined up top world cup stories, exclusive columns from Ricky Ponting, Stephen Fleming, Graeme Smith, Mahela Jayawardene, the schedule, team profiles, pitch reports, photo galleries, controversies, match previews, live scorecards, slideshows and an audio update of all the action, said a report.

Presenting the World Cup through an exclusive web channel, MSN India is also bringing out a downloadable Windows Mobile World Cup application where users with Windows Mobile platform phones can load the application to their phones and get live updates on the matches as it happens on GPRS without having to send an SMS every time, the report added.

In addition to all these, MSN has also launched the Vista World Cup Sidebar Gadget catering to Windows Vista Users which will provide constant live score updates and feedback on their very own desktop, while the WAP Portal lets users can keep track of all the details of every match on their mobile phone, it added.

To add to the fun is MSN Clicket, explained as cricket played with a mouse. This is a predict and win game where users can choose their players for each match and earn points based on their accuracy of playing team predictions. Further, Cricket-Live, an interactive multi player game comes as a bonus.


Meanwhile, in the Caribbean where al the action is underway, the Indian cricket team arrived in Port-of-Spain early on Tuesday morning to play their three group matches against Bangladesh, Bermuda and Sri Lanka. India will begin its WC campaign on March 17 with a match against minnows Bangladesh.
