Motorola Quench Android phone announced at 2010 Mobile World Congress

Motorola announced the Motorola Quench, its eighth Android phone, at the 2010 Mobile World Congress, that is being held in Barcelona, Spain.The phone is none other than the Motorola Zeppelin that was rumored to be unveiled at the 2010, according to engadget.

“Quench with Motoblur showcases Motorola’s design heritage by offering a compelling differentiation from the traditional Android experience, giving people an easier way to have more messaging, more Web and more music,” said Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and CEO of Motorola Mobile Devices and Home business.

The phone has a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and pinch and zoom capabilities. Users can navigate the phone using a front-facing, centrally-located touch pad.

It measures 116.8 x 60 x 12.4 mm and weighs 130 grams, and runs Android 1.5 operating system.

The Motorola Quench comes with the Motoblur user interface that allows users to organize and integrate all content related to a single contact or more, such as emails, posts, messages, photos, and other content from social networking sites.

Using the Motorola Quench, users can browse through all this content and news feeds etc on the phone’s customizable user interface.

Other new features include the Adobe Flash Lite and Swype that enables quick and easy text messaging.

Another feature of the Motorola Quench is the voice-activated search that can furnish Google results or start apps.

Multimedia specs include a new media player that integrates applications like TuneWiki, SoundHound, GoTV, allows users to buy and download music, share music with friends, stream FM radio and videos.

The Motorola Quench comes with a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, geotagging, and LED flash. Other specifications include accelerometer, proximity sensor, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, A-GPS, and dual microphones with noise cancellation.

The phone works on 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G HSDPA 1700 / 2100 / 900 networks.

The battery offers 4.5 hours of Talk-time and 500 hours of Stand-by time.

The Motorola Quench or the Motorola Cliq XT will be available in three colors, Purple, Black, and Licorice.

The Motorola Quench Android phone will be launched in the US, in March 2010, as the Motorola Cliq XT, via T-Mobile.
