Motorola has launched its new Android smartphone, the Motorola Milestone, in India. Priced at Rs 32,990, the Motorola Milestone, also known as the Motorola Droid, offers multiple applications at one go and comes with ultra-thin QWERTY side sliders that measure just 13.7 mm in thickness.

The smartphone has a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.
Boasting of high-resolution, pinch and zoom display, the Motorola Milestone also offers full screen web browsing experience and a complete suite of Google applications. The phone runs the Android 2.1 OS and offers access to Google’s mobile applications, including search, maps, Gmail and YouTube.
Motorola is offering Indian customers lifetime free access to fully voice-guided street-level navigable maps of 401 Indian cities. This means that voice-guided navigation and routing in the cities and across major national and state highways are enabled.
Powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor, akin to what is inside the iPhone 3GS, and the Omnia HD multimedia powerhouse, the Motorola Milestone incorporates a 5-megapixel camera at the rear with dual-LED flash, auto focus, and image stabilization.

On the pricing front, the Motorola Milestone can be compared to LG’s recently launched Android device, the LG GW620, priced at Rs 16,490. The LG Android device has 3-inch TFT touch screen, 5 MP camera, Wi-Fi and high speed GPS and EDGE connectivity. The slide-out 5-liner QWERTY keypad that works like a pocket PC also makes the LG handset hot enough.
