Motorola and Verizon Wireless have officially revealed key specs of the Motorola Droid Android phone.Boy Genius Report has said that Motorola will launch the Motorola Droid Android phone via Verizon Wireless, on October 30, 2009.

The phone, which is the result of a collaboration between Motorola, Verizon, and Google, is expected to give serious competition to the Apple iPhone. Update: Motorola Droid – iPhone 3GS comparison

Verizon has revealed, on its site, that the phone will offer speech recognition, 10000+ applications, high speed, hi-resolution, notification panel, directions, video, and tunes.

Here are some other specifications of the Motorola Droid Android phone.

The phone is powered by a TI OMAP3430 processor (used by iPhone and Pam Pre) and runs Android v 2.0, that offers a new user interface, support for social networking sites, and a new Maps application.

The TI OMAP3430 processor is said to be more powerful than the 528MHz ARM11 processor run by most Android phones till date.

The Motorola Droid Android is a bit thicker than the iPhone 3GS and has a very thin QWERTY slider, BGR has reported.

BGR has also reported that the phone has a high-resolution capacitive display and a QWERTY keyboard with a rubberized finish.

The Motorola Droid Android phone will have a 5.0-mega pixel camera.

Motorola has bundled a desktop charger with the Motorola Droid Android phone that display information like time, weather and so on.

There is no information available about the price of the Motorola Droid Android phone but there are speculations that the phone may be charged upwards of $200 on a 2-year contract.

Will the Motorola Droid Android touch screen phone be launched in India? Recently two Android smartphones, HTC Hero and the Samsung Galaxy Lite, were launched in India.

The HTC Hero was launched at a price of Rs 31,990 across India, and Rs 34,600 in Maharashtra, while the Samsung Galaxy Lite i7500 Android phone is priced at Rs Rs 28,990.

The Apple iPhone was launched in India at a price of  Rs 31000 and Rs 36100 for the 8GB iPhone and 16GB iPhone, respectively, in August 2008.

Expect the Motorola Droid Android phone to be competitively priced.
