Microsoft delays release of Halo 2 due to partial nudity

29 May, 2007

Microsoft is planning to delay the launch of its Halo 2 for vista in the United States because of the presence of some nudity content in the game. Microsoft had announced some time back that the Halo 2 game for the Vista will be delayed till May 31st, thus making it the second delay in one month.

Microsoft so far had kept silent about the delay in the launch of its Halo 2 game, but yesterday a Microsoft spokesperson said that the delay is due to the presence of partial nudity in the game's content. Microsoft is at this moment trying to make sure that the correct ESRB label is affixed to the game.

Microsoft has released a patch to remove the offensive content from the game, but the company is just taking its time to make sure that the retailers of the Halo 2 game will affix the labels to the units which have already been handed out to the customers.

ďAt Microsoft we take the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) guidelines very seriously and hold ourselves to high standards, with our customers always in mind," Microsoft has announced.

The partial nudity in question amounts to a character showing his bare backside when a particular error occurs in the Halo 2 game.
