I am not saying that, Zdnet is. And as they are saying that, so are a lot of people. Even though this post is based on no more info than that, we can’t afford to not write about the potential launch date of the Microsoft Courier.

So there it is, folks. It WILL be launched, and it will be launched sometime mid-2010. Normally, Microsoft is a bit tardy about meeting their own deadlines, so I personally will look for the Courier to appear towards end-2010.

Meanwhile, more info about the Courier note-taking touch-screen tablet computer is coming out. Unlike what we hear about the upcoming Apple touchscreen tablet computer – which is rumoured to be running the iPhone OS, not OS X – the MS Courier will launch with a custom user interface running on top of its Windows 7 operating system.

Zdnet’s man claims that while officially Microsoft has nothing at all to say about the Courier, his source(s) have stuff to say about the OS and the launch date. So nothing is confirmed, but then you don’t expect that at this time anyway.

While the Microsoft Courier will run Windows 7, that does not mean that you will be able to install Windows 7 apps in Courier. MS has done this so the usability doesn’t get all screwed up like when apps designed for keyboard and mice show up on touchscreens, they can ruin the experience.

More videos of the Courier interface are showing up on some sites. Will try to get a few good ones if I can.
