The social networking oriented LG Town GT350 comes with a 3 inch resistive touchscreen and slider keypad. No prices announced yet.
LG Electronics has announced its official launch of the budget mobile phone Town GT350, with the promise of bringing to the users easy access to social networking and messaging. First among the several Town series handsets that are to arrive from the house of LG, the Town GT350 targets a customer segment that is more inclined toward social networking and messaging.
The LG Town GT350 has a 3-inch resistive QVGA touchscreen and a 2MP camera. Besides, it would come sporting a specially designed interface so as to access social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The resistive touchscreen means LG has managed to cut some costs here. Usually, resistive touchscreens are not as easy to use as capacitive touchscreens like in the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 or the HTC HD2 – but implementations differ, so this is something you will have to figure out by testing the phone.
The curvy phone (as you can see from the photo above) comes with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. A closer look would remind you of a similar keyboard you earlier saw in the KS360 model which had come some time ago. The LG Town GT350 mobile phone will be available in four colours namely Aqua Blue, Purple, Light Silver and Black.
This is made possible with a social network feed that is supported by the Town GT350, said LG. A live social network feed pops up on the WQVGA touchscreen and the refresh button updates the feeds in a second. The official press release talks about updates from Facebook, Twitter and Orkut, but makes no mention of other social networking websites. So we are not sure if feeds from other social network sites can be added to the phone or not.
Dubbed as the first social networking phone in LG’s new Town series, the GT350 will be of use to social-networking obsessed teens who want to click pics and upload to multiple social networks. They will also be able to share image files via MMS or e-mail. On the connectivity front, it has Wi-Fi connectivity.
The phone is being brought in by LG in a stylish exterior and will have grip-friendly rounded edges. The Town GT350 will come in hues of aqua blue, purple, light silver and black.
LG proposes to roll out the model in the UK, Germany and Italy in June 2010. The other markets will get to see the Town GT350 later on. Prices would differ in these markets we guess, and would be announced as the phone is launched there.
