LG IQ, which has so far been known as LG Monaco, was expected to be sold in the US through AT&T, but it seems the LG IQ touchscreen mobile phone will make its debut with Telus in Canada. The LG IQ is expected to be available at a price of $99. There aren’t many photos and pictures of the LG IQ available yet. Watch the video below for a closer look.

The LG IQ is a smartphone, with good features and technical specifications. The LG IQ has a fingerprint scanner, a 3 megapixel camera, a touchscreen and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The LG IQ sports Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the latest from Microsoft for mobile phones. The LG IQ works in the GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA range at 850/1900/2100 MHz. The display is a WVGA touchscreen, but the screen size is rather small at 3.2 inches.

The LG IQ resolution is quite good though: 480 X 800 pixels. The latest LG phone also comes with GPS and Bluetooth. The LG IQ mobile has a compact form factor. There are four physical keys on the front bottom side of the LG IQ, which reduces the effective space for the new phone. The user interface will be the LG-customised S-Class.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor powers the LG IQ, reports Boygeniusreport. The LG IQ will be exclusive to Telus in Canada to begin with, but we have no indication on whether LG will offer the IQ mobile later without a bundled plan. The company is mum on whether the phone will be rolled out in the US, Europe and Asia in time for the holiday shopping and gifting season.

The LG IQ 3G phone has dimensions 113 x 55 x 15.6mm. The phone has a weight of 127 grams – slightly on the heavier side, but it’s the same with most touchscreen phones these days with a physical keyboard, like the Motorola Droid.

The LG IQ is expected to cost $99 in Canada with a contract. The IQ will be the first smartphone from Telus running on Windows Mobile 6.5. A Best Buy ad in Canada on November 6 had unwittingly exposed the LG IQ, but the ad did not make clear which operator will sell the handset.

It makes sense to guess that the LG IQ will debut in the US on AT&T, which is a GSM operator. Will there be a CDMA version of IQ? We doubt it. Once the LG IQ makes its way to India, we expect to be available on GSM networks like Airtel, Vodafone, Tata DoCoMo, Reliance Communications, Loop Mobile, Aircel and MTNL/BSNL. The price?
