LG GW620 Android phone to be launched soon
LG is likely to launch its first Android phone, the LG GW620, soon, reports say.Engadgetmobile has reported that LG has put up photos and videos of the LG GW620 Android phone, on the phone’s official website.

The phone will run the open-source Android mobile operating system that was first developed by Google and later by the Open Handset Alliance.
The company had officially announced the LG GW620 in mid-September 2009. It had said that the phone would be launched in the last quarter of 2009.
Reports say that the phone will be in the same class as the Motorola Cliq. The social-networking focused LG GW620 phone will have a brushed aluminum casing with a 3-inch resistive touch screen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution (rumored) and slide-out landscape full QWERTY keypad.
The Motorola CLIQ or DEXT, too, has a 3.1-inch display screen with a slide-out landscape full QWERTY keyboard. And, like the Motorola CLIQ, the LG GW620 is rumored to come with a 5-megapixel camera.

At the time of the announcement of the LG GW620, the company had said that the LG GW620 would be the first of the13 new smartphones that the company plans to launch by 2010.
The promo video, of the LG GW620 Android phone, posted by engadgetmobile, reveals that the phone is focused mainly on social networking.
The SNS manager allows users to form contact lists, and check updates by contacts on social networking sites in real time.
The promo claims that the 5-line QWERTY keypad of the LG GW620 phone offers 620 strokes in a second.
Other social networking specs include a face recognizer feature, auto face-tagging and face to action, using which the user can tag the face of a friend and create a contact and even call directly.
Little else is known about the specs, price, or launch details of the phone. It’s almost as if LG has decided to wake up and stick in its oar in the flood of Android phones that have been rocking the phone market recently.
