The South Korean Electronics giant prepares to launch their new windows based LG GM750 Layla mobile phone. The phone is expected to run on the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and feature many other novel applications.
The LG GM750 Layla phone sports a 5 mega pixel autofocus camera with German Schneider-Kreuznach optics. The phone is also expected to sport the company’s S-class user interface. Another novel feature the phone is rumored to sport is the new ‘chat on the map’ application which allows the user to locate the geographical location of their chat partner when chatting with them through an instant messenger. GPS, Wi-Fi and accelerometer are also included in the Layla’s specifications list.
The LG GM750 Layla will have a 400 x 240 pixels display similar to its predecessor GM730; at this moment, this is just speculation though, and data gleaned from leaks on the Net. Some rumors say that that the display has an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. That covers all bases, doesn’t it?!
The LG GM750 Layla phone may have an in built flash memory of 512 Mb and can be extended up to 32 GB via MicroSD card. It may also feature a 4 way navigation button, USB Connector, Multi-Touch screen, built in GPS module with geo tagging facilities, built in LED flash light and GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100 cellular networks.
GM750 incorporates good aesthetic value by being slim and attractive. The dimensions of the phone are 109.8 x 56.5 x 11.9 mm and it is expected to be released in the third quarter of the present year.
With all the information available right now, the phone can be categorized as a Windows Smartphone, but we will have to wait for some more time to learn about the exact specifications of the cell phone and also about its price tag and marketing strategy.
At this point, we have no idea if the phone will ever make it into India. Anyway, there is no clarity on specs either – so perhaps we are talking too early!
