LG GM750 Layla windows-based smartphone by end-2009

The South Korean Electronics giant LG is gearing up to launch its new windows-based LG GM750 Layla smartphone, reports say.

The phone is expected to run on the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and feature many other novel applications.

The LG GM750 Layla phone comes with a 5-mega pixel camera with German Schneider-Kreuznach optics and auto focus capabilities.

The phone is said to have a built-in secondary digital camera as well with a resolution of 640×480 pixels
that supports Jpeg image format and
3GP, MPEG4 recording video formats.

The LG GM750 Layla phone is also expected to sport the company’s S-class user interface.

Another novel feature the phone is rumored to sport is the new ‘chat on the map’ application which allows the user to locate the geographical location of their chat partner when chatting with them through an instant messenger. GPS, Wi-Fi and accelerometer are also included in the specifications list.

There are speculations that the LG GM750 Layla phone will have a 400 x 240 pixels display similar to its predecessor LG GM730, but some other rumors say that the phone’s display will have an 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

The LG GM750 Layla phone may have an in-built flash memory of 512 Mb and can be extended up to 32 GB via MicroSD card. It may also feature a four-way navigation button, USB Connector, Multi-Touch screen, built in GPS module with geo tagging facilities, built in LED flash light and GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100 cellular networks.

The LG GM750 Layla phone is slim and attractive measuring 109.8 x 56.5 x 11.9 mm. The phone is expected to be launched in the third quarter of the present year.

There is no further information available about the phone’s specifications, its price, and availability.
