LG has launched a new handset at the Mobile World Congress that features a see through keypad.

According to LG the new GD900 will “prove that stylish design can be achieved not only with the use of vivid colors, but also by revealing the handset in its purest form”.
The sliding keypad of GD900 is translucent, a world’s first. The keypad is though the only transparent part of the handset. The rest of the LG GD900 is quite normal.
The LG GD900 features quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support, as well as dual-band UMTS (900/2100MHz or 850/1900MHz) with HSDPA for high-speed connections. It’s also rather small, measuring in at 105mm x 52.5mm x 13.4mm (4.1in x 2.1in x .5in). The LG GD900 is planned to be available in the second quarter of 2009, though pricing details were not released.
The GD900 also comes with a Bluetooth headset, the LG HBM580, in matching blue, silver, and transparent attire.
The Mobile World Congress 2009 (MWC 2009) started on February 16th and lasts until the 19th. The MWC 2009 (former 3GSM) is taking place again in Barcelona.
No other specifications of the phone are currently available. But now that there is one phone with a transparent keypad, we can see other phone manufacturers also coming out with similar see-through features. If it comes to India, we can see a rush from college kids for sure!
