LG eXpo GW820, a touchscreen 3G phone from AT&T was launched in the US today. LG has not announced whether it will come to other countries including India, but here, we have all the technical specifications and features for you. The LG eXpo will be on sale from December 7 to AT&T’s enterprise customers for $200 after mail-in rebate with new contract.

The LG eXpo GW820 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. The LG eXpo GW820 works in GSM-GPRS at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz. This means Verizon users won’t be able to lay their hands on the LG eXpo GW820 for now. There is no CDMA LG eXpo GW820 on cards. The 3G phone can handle HSPA 7.2Mbps data connectivity. The LG eXpo can display 16 million colors on its touchscreen.

The LG eXpo has two interesting features not in any other phone in the US now; a removable pico projector from Texas Instruments and a fingerprint sensor. The pico projector on the LG eXpo GW820 is at the back, and can be use used for making presentations, slide shows etc. The phone can be used to project images up to eight feet, LG and AT&T said. The LG eXpo GW820 also comes with a fingerprint sensor with Smart Sensor technology, so that you don’t need to memorise passwords and PIN numbers to access specific functions on the LG eXpo; just an authentication with your fingertip will do.
Running a powerful 1 GHz processor, the LG eXpo GW820 is preloaded with Assisted GPS (AGPS) and Bluetooth connectivity. The 5 megapixel camera is on of the best in its class, and comes with autofocus and flash. The mobile runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 version, the latest mobile operating system from Microsoft Windows.
It is not clear if the LG eXpo GW820 will be released in Europe, Asia and other countries which will require a different set of GSM and UMTS frequencies.
