LG Cookie Pep GD510 phone launched in India

LG launched the LG GD510, also known as the LG GD510 Pop, as the LG Cookie Pep in India, on March 4, 2010.The LG GD510 Cookie Pep, as the name suggests, is aimed at the youth in India.

“It delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment in a delightfully compact form. I am positive that this phone will be an instant hit with the youngsters,” said Sudhin Mathur, Business Head, Mobile Communications, LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.

Keeping in mind its target audience, the LG Cookie Pep GD510 offers easy access to social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and apps such as live cricket simulations.

The LG Cookie Pep GD510 has a 3-inch TFT, resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels.

The stylish phone that is housed in brushed aluminum has a clean design with a slim 4.8-mm bezel and a single backlit button at the bottom right that can be used as the Menu, End, or Cancel key. It will be available in two colors, Silver and Black.

The phone measures 97.8 x 49.5 x 11.2 mm and weight    only 87 grams.

It is equipped with a 3.15-megapixel camera and offers QVGA video recording at 15fps.

The LG Cookie Pep GD510 phone comes with 42MB internal memory expandable up to 8GB via microSD card.

Other specifications of the phone include Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, microUSB, optional solar panel for charging battery, full HTML browser, Voice memo, T9, Organizer, speakerphone, and stereo FM with RDS.

The phone does not offer 3G or WiFi.

The Li-Ion 900 mAh battery offers Talktime of up to 3 hours and 20 minutes and Standby time of up to 360 hours. When charged by the solar panel for ten minutes, it offers Talktime of up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds and Standby time of up to 3 hours.

The LG Cookie Pep GD510 is available in India at a price of Rs. 7,500.
