If you would like t have an iPhone but do not care much for the price tag, perhaps you should take a look at the LG Cookie KP500 mobile phone. Especially if you are in India like us, and want a touchscreen but not Apple tag.

LG Cookie KP500 phone
With the price tag at an affordable Rs. 15000, the LG Cookie KP 500 phone has enough features to keep you happy. The touch-screen LG Cookie handset has the following dimensions: 106.5 mm tall, width of 55.4mm and an impressive thickness of 11.9mm. Weight is weight of 89g.
The LG cookie KP 500 does not have 3G, but EDGE and quad-band GSM are present. Should not matter if you are in India, as there is no 3G yet in most cities and only 3G service provider in India is BSNL.
Along with the 3-inch TFT touch screen and the 3 MP camera, what makes LG cookie more attractive is the fact that the phone features a ‘motion-sensor’ that reorients the screen in front of your eyes when the phones is turned or shaken. The accelerometer swivels the screen round between portrait and landscape formats as you move the phone in your hands, or play games that take advantage of this feature. That looks quite trendy alright.
Another rather nice and handy feature of the LG Cookie KP500 phone is that if you swipe left to right on the touchscreen, any widgets you have put on the screen disappear to be replaced by as many as eight speed dials complete with thumbnail photos. Whatever image you’ve chosen for the wallpaper remains intact.
The comparisons with the LG Renoir phone is obvious because of the use of the user-friendly LG Flash-based UI, and the same under-screen button design offering three small buttons – Call, End and a central button. The gaming aspect of the LG Cookie phone is expected to be a touch better than the LG Renoir.
There is auto screen rotation for images, video and documents and finally, there’s the landscape onscreen QWERTY keypad which makes sending longish SMSes or taking notes a breeze on the Cookie.
However the LG Cookie does not support the DivX or XviD format. It does support MP3\ AAC, AAC+, WMA, RA and MPEG4 formats. The MPEG4 videos will be available to the user with a 240×400 pixel resolution.
A tap on the top of this handset pops up the status summary offering basic system info, a profile switcher and Bluetooth toggle.
The LG Cookie KP 500 is currently being advertised by LG India and should be in stores shortly.
