LG Electronics came out with what it calls the world’s first full HD 3D single lens type projector, CF3D, at the International Consumer Electronics Show this week at Las Vegas.

3D movies seem all set to be the flavour of the decade after James Cameron’s movie set box office records with its astonishing 3D and CGI.

The LG CF3D projector with its enhanced technology gives its users a more life-like viewing experience. Here are a few of the specifications of the new LG 3D projector: It has a remarkable brightness rating of 2500 ANSI-lumens, a high contrast ratio of 7000:1 as well as full HD 1080p display resolutions, attained with the help of the 0.61-inch SXRD engine. Ports include two HDMI and a USB 2.0. This model also features TruMotion 120Hz for smoother images – a technology previously seen on flat panel HDTVs. Related: 3D home theater projectors

The LG CF3D HD projector incorporates LG’s Dual Engine and 3D auto picture calibration technology which gives the CF3D improved colour correction, while HDMI upscaling reduces colour banding, providing smoother tonal transitions and more subtle gradation colours. The dual engine processor controls the 3D signal and automatically keeps everything in focus.

This nifty projector can produce a 3D image from a single projector lens rather than having two lenses for separate left and right images. According to some reports, the price could be around $10,000 and it should be on sale by May 2010.

Besides the 3D projector, the Korean company also unveiled a new lightweight LED-based, model HX300G, at the show. It uses an LED light source for clear color imaging and offers increased durability with long lamp life of approximately 30,000 hours. With an output brightness of 300 ANSI-lumens, the HX300G allows users to view video content in a darkened room with reduced distortion.

The HX300G is compact, easy to carry around as it is lightweight at just 1.7 pounds. The All File Viewer function supports all Microsoft Office files, while the included USB port and support for “HD” DivX, MP3 and JPEG files, makes it ideal for presentations.
