Lenovo has announced its two new ThinkCentres – M70e and A70. M70e is the entry level desktop, designed for small to medium businesses and A70 is for better processing speed, memory and graphics.
The desktops come in two sizes – small form factor or tower. The products are well-designed, and that is obvious from the photos. The access controls that are frequently used are being placed at the top of the PC, so that they become easy to reach to the user when using on floor, table or some other place.
Also, the indicator lights and power button are placed on a panel angled toward the user. Moreover, Lenovo has placed the USB and audio ports right next to the DVD drive at the top of the M70e and A70, so that they are visible and easy to access. The DVD drive eject button is derived from Lenovo’s ThinkPad, so that it is easy to view and access.
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M70e uses a smaller motherboard and rearranges internal components to save 14mm from its width, which has made the M70e 20 percent smaller than the previous ThinkCentre models.
The chassis of the Lenovo ThinkCentres are designed thinner to reduce their weights. Also, M70e features advanced thermodynamics to offer better heat dissipation and to lower power consumption. To give better cooling affect, Lenovo has redesigned the motherboard and added an extra fan and a side vent to M70e, which enables M70e to run 10 percent cooler than previous models. Moreover, it consumes 15 percent less power than older models and contains 35 percent post consumer recycled plastic.

Users get an option to choose between Nvidia GeForce FX380 Quadro or Intel integrated GMA X4500 graphics, paired with DDR3 (double-data rate 3) memory of up to 4GB.
A70 offers storage of 500 GB capacity and M70e comes with 1 TB storage capacity. Both models offer Gigabit Ethernet, DVD burners and ThinkVantage tools to prevent any data loss.
M70e is priced at $559, while A70 at $379 and would be available this month through Lenovo’s business partners.
According to IDC and Gartner, Lenovo was the fourth ranking PC provider in the world during the second quarter of 2010. With the announcement of two new ThinkCentres, delivering better performance at an affordable price, Lenovo will surely thrive a better share in the market.
