Kodak Slice digital camera launched

Kodak Slice, an internet-friendly digital camera with an anti-reflective touch screen was launched this week at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas.

The point and shoot Kodak Slice digital camera boasts of a 14-megapixel CCD sensor and a 5X-Schneider-Kreuznach Lens. The digital camera comes with a 3.5 inch LCD touchscreen at the rear and an inbuilt uploader called EasyShare software. The software supports a social mode for uploading photographs on to Flickr or Facebook, when you sync your Kodak Slice camera.

Internationally priced at $350, Kodak Slice also has a face-recognition software, which can recognize and tag as many as 20 faces. The search function has been beefed up by Kodak and allows you to sort pictures by person, place, event or date. Again, the Share button which is present on all new Kodak digital cameras has selections for tagging photos and automatically upload them to social networking sites.

It also has a microSDHC card slot. You can save the pictures on this card, and later slide the into your mobile phone, and email the photo anywhere with the mobile phone.

Kodak Slice goes on sale in April with a 2GB internal memory that allows you to store up to 5000 images. It can record 720p HD video at 30 fps, and is available in three colors – black, nickel and radish. Kodak Slice debuted at the Consumer Electronic Show 2010 at Las Vegas.

Kodak said in a press release that the Slice comes with built-in optical image stabilization and exclusive Smart Capture feature. Smart Capture can analyze scenes and automatically adjust Slice settings. The Kodak Slice is compatible with PC or APPLE iLife Software.
