Kodak introduces integrated solution for online orders for online photo printing26 May 2008
Kodak has introduced an end to end,
integrated solution (cXML) to take the
customer orders online and sends it to
the business management system by
eliminating the need to manually rekey
customer orders for job management,
processing and invoicing. This system
is designed by creating connectivity
between the Kodak INSITE Storefront
System and Kodak EMS Business
Software. The new functionality could
reduce the cost of processing online
orders, and extends the business
management reach of EMS Business
Software to nontraditional print
products and services that are
frequently ordered online. The new
format is aimed at graphic
communications companies to introduce
more automation into the production
process. When a customer places an
order through the user's Kodak INSITE
Storefront System, the order
information is validated instantly in
Kodak EMS Business Software: the item
ordered, quantity, special
instructions and shipping address.
Once the web order information is
validated, Kodak EMS Software can
automatically create, release and
schedule the job. When the web order
is shipped using KODAK EMS Software,
shipment information including the
ship date and tracking number is sent
back to the INSITE Storefront System.
