Infosys InStep program expands global footprint
Alstom and Infosys jointly set up R&D centre in Bangalore

10 June, 2005: Infosys Technologies has admitted 40 interns at its Bangalore campus as part of its Global Internship Program, InStep. In 2005, InStep is expected to welcome about 100 interns to Infosys from 70 international universities. Some of these are Carnegie Mellon, Harvard, Wharton, MIT, London Business School and Asia Institute of Management. InStep is claimed to be India's largest institutionalized global internship programme. InStep has students from US, Japan, Canada, Germany and France.
InStep was started in 1999 and is offered to students from over 70 universities across the world. The intensive eight to 24-week internship program gives select students hands-on experience on developing state-of-the-art software services and solutions in Infosys’ global development centers across the globe.
InStep was started six years ago, with 14 internship positions open. At that time, it received 300 applications. This year, InStep received more than 9,000 applications for 100 positions. Interns from Infosys InStep have published article in reputed magazines.
