Gartner positions Infosys in
leaders Quadrant
19 August, 2007
Infosys Technologies has been
positioned by Gartner in the leaders
quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for
North American Offshore Applications
Services 2007.
Gartner has said that “leaders are
vendors who are performing well today,
have a clear vision of market
direction, and are actively building
competencies to sustain their
leadership position in the market.”
The past two year period has seen
Infosys lining up key strategic
priorities like strengthening its
global delivery model across Asia,
Western and Central Europe and North
America, and advancing its
methodologies and processes for
application services delivery.
The Global delivery model-based
application services form the core of
Infosys’ client relationships and its
value proposition to help companies
win in the flat world. According to
the report, which quoted S.
Gopalakrishnan, chief executive
officer and managing director, Infosys
Technologies, the company being placed
in the Leaders Quadrant by Gartner is
recognition of its capability to
compete for and win in large-scale
applications outsourcing, as well as
the company’s investment in new
offerings and geographic growth.
Says the Gartner report, “the supply
side is pushing the advancement of
globally delivered application
services more than the demand side.
Service
providers also are being called on to
move beyond low-level development
functions and essentially provide
world-class, domain-specific,
leading-edge
application competencies. The result
is that some providers have bridged
this gap and had significant growth,
while other service providers have
failed to take advantage of the new,
demanding market conditions."
The report added that the clients
trust Infosys as a partner to build
and support business applications that
are most critical to their
transformation or day-to-day
operations. Year 2007 has till date
seen Infosys bagging several awards
from customers representing such
global industries as banking, retail,
automotive and many others in its role
as a trusted transformation partner.
