Hutch, Jet unveil M-Ticketing

M-Ticketing has arrived. Mobile player
Hutch and Jet Airways have jointly
announced a pioneering initiative
called M-ticketing. Developed by an
US-based company called C-Sam,
M-ticketing will enable Hutch
customers with GPRS-enabled phones,
who are also Jet Privilege (JP)
members, to make booking, payments,
and generate e-tickets on their
phones, aid a report.
Jet Privilege members just need to
download the secure JetWallet
application on to their GPRS-enabled
Hutch phones to avail of this
facility. Users can book tickets using
their unique activation code generated
while downloading, pay using credit
cards, and generate e-tickets on
domestic sectors in Indian currency,
it added.
Once the process is done, the
e-tickets generated will be
automatically emailed to the user’s
email address, which can be printed
and used to gain entry inside the
airport as well as for check-in using
valid photo identification.
Sources said that the new facility
also enables e-tickets to be used to
web check-in. This is expected to
provide customers a seamless and
convenient option to book, pay, and
print their boarding pass using
mobile-ticketing and web check-in. The
member will receive the booking
details on his Hutch phone via SMS.
M-ticketing also lets the user to view
past tickets, change, cancel, and
refund the e-tickets booked through
JetWallet.
