HTC has launched the HTC Touch2 mobile phone in India via Reliance Communication’s GSM network. The HTC Touch2 will be available at a price of Rs. 24,490 in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, and Rs. 22,490 countrywide through authorized HTC resellers.
HTC is expanding its touch screen range in India at different price points.
Recently, in September 2009, HTC had launched the HTC Hero Android phone in India, at a price of Rs 31,990 across India, and Rs 34,600 in Maharashtra.

The HTC Touch2 comes with a 7.11-cm (2.8-inch) QVGA touch screen, with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.
The phone measures 104 x 55 x 12.9 mm and weighs 110 gms.
The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.5 operation system, Microsoft’s latest offering.
The HTC Touch 2 is powered by the Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor and has 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM.
The HTC Touch2, earlier known as the HTC Mega, will not come with HTC’s new user interface, the HTC Sense, found in the HTC Hero.

Rather, it will sport HTC’s TouchFlo user interface, that comes with 11 color icons and a weather clock to view local time and weather.
Users can use a Zoom bar to zoom in and out of pictures and make use of TouchFlo’s 3D finger swipe navigation, accelerometer, and handwriting recognition.
Other features of the phone include support for 3.5G, integration of applications like Outlook, Calendar, Contacts and Work, and internal GPS antenna for access to applications like Google Maps.

The HTC Touch2 offers Microsoft’s new My Phone service that enables user to back up their data with ease and ensures easy backup and integration of communication applications and contact information like photos, music, contacts and text messages.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, WiFi specifications of IEEE 802.11 b/g.
HTC Touch2 Opera Mobile and IE Mobile promise desktop-style viewing of Web pages.
The HTC Touch2 comes with a standard Li-Ion 1000 mAh battery with stand-by time up to 500 h for 2G and up to 370 h for 3G.
Talktime is up to 7 h 30 min for 2G and p to 6 h 10 min for 3G.
The phone will be available in black, brown and silver.
The company has said that Reliance Mobile customers will get six months Free Data Usage of 200MB per month.
