Last week, Engadget had reported that the upcoming HTC Supersonic will be available soon in the US via Sprint.

Sprint already has a limited WIMAX service in the US and is in the process of boosting it.

Here is a recap of some of the HTC Supersonic’s specs that have emerged so far.

The HTC Supersonic will run Android 2.1, unlike the HTC HD2 that runs Winmo 6.5, and the rumored HTC HD3 that is expected to run Windows 7.

The HTC Supersonic will have HTC proprietary Sense user interface UI on top of Android 2.1.

Unconfirmed reports say that the HTC Supersonic will come with a 4.3-inch touch screen and a 5-mega pixel camera, like the HTC HD2, and a kickstand.

However, unlike the HTC HD2, the HTC Supersonic may be blessed with an AMOLED screen.

The phone is also said to be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

It is not clear if the phone will be called the HTC Supersonic or something else. There are no detailed specifications about the phone or the expected time of launch, on the ground.

The HTC Supersonic is not the only HTC phone that is the subject of speculation as of now.

Rumors of a successor to the HTC HD2, the HTC HD3, are also doing the rounds. That phone is also said to be a souped-up version of the HTC HD2, except that it will run Windows 7, have a 4.5-inch multi-touch screen with an 8-megapixel camera.
