There is some interesting information filtering in about Android phones that will be launched in end-2009, via Verizon Wireless. To start with, theunlockr.com has reported that the much-discussed HTC Dragon is the HTC Passion Android phone that will be launched via Verizon in November-December 2009.
When leaked photos of the HTC Dragon first appeared, many remarked on the similarities between the phone and the Motorola Droid (that will be also offered by Verizon).

theunlockr.com has speculated that the reason the HTC Dragon (HTC Passion) is similar to the Motorola Droid is because Verizon has an array of Android phones up its sleeve and it wants a certain amount of uniformity among them.
The HTC Passion is likely to run Android 2.0 and have a 1-GHZ snapdragon processor.
Phonearena has speculated Verizon Droid is actually a series (of Android phones) and not a single phone.
The HTC Desire will be launched as the HTC Droid Eris, on November 6, 2009, Engadget has reported. The HTC Droid Eris touch screen phone is said to have touch sensitive buttons and a track ball for navigation.

Last week there were reports that Motorola and Verizon Wireless would launch the Motorola Droid Android phone on October 30, 2009.
The phone is said to have a high-resolution capacitive display, 5.0 megapixel camera, a QWERTY keyboard, and a new Maps application.
The Motorola Android phone will be powered by a TI OMAP3430 processor and will run Android v 2.0, that offers a new user interface.
Reports also said that Motorola and Verizon Wireless would launch the Motorola Calgary Android phone after the launch of the Motorola Droid phone.
Even if half of the rumors floating around are true, expect to see a slew of different kinds of Android phones from Verizon Wireless during the holiday season.
