tmonews has reported that the HTC Passion will be launched in the first two weeks of January 2009.
Android guys have mentioned two codenames, the HTC Passion and HTC PassionC, leading to the speculation that the HTC PassionC may be the CDMA version of the HTC Passion.
This bit of news has followed a Boy Genius Report that carried a list of forthcoming HTC Android phones, which include the HTC Passion.
The other names on the list are “Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Dragon, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic.”
Expect more on these phones in the coming days.
There is hardly any information available about the rumored HTC Passion, though.
In October-end 2009, we had carried a story about the HTC Passion being launched via Verizon in end-2009. At that time, theunlockr.com had reported that the HTC Dragon was the HTC Passion Android phone.
Some reports have pegged the HTC Passion Android phone to be a multi-touch phone with a 4.3-inch display and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash. The HTC Passion Android phone is said to have a Snapdragon 1GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and 512MB ROM.
Other features include a microUSB port, 3.5 mm jack, 3G capability, Bluetooth, and A-GPS.
