HTC Legend via Sprint, Desire via AT&T for US rumored

HTC plans to launch its HTC Legend as the HTC Hero 2 via Sprint and HTC Desire via AT&T, in the US, according to Boy Genius Report.


HTC had announced the HTC Legend and the HTC Desire at the World Mobile Congress, on February 16, 2010. The HTC Legend will be launched in the UK in April 2010. Related: HTC Desire on Tata Docomo in India

The stunning HTC Legend is housed in a single piece of aluminum with a brushed metallic finish. It has a trackball for navigation and is slightly curved at the bottom like the HTC Hero but not as pronounced.

The phone comes with a 3.2-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 320 X 480 pixels.

The phone runs the Android 2.1 operating system overlaid with the latest version of the HTC Sense user interface. There is a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, geotagging, and widescreen photo capture.

The HTC Legend comes preloaded with Facebook, offers social networking features, such as Friend Stream, HTC Peep for twitter, and allows users to upload pictures to Twitter etc, and post videos to YouTube.

There is integrated GPS, Google Maps, and 3G. Other specifications include digital compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, FM Radio, and widgets for Calendar, Clock, Footprints, Mail, Messages, News and so on.
In terms of connectivity, the HTC Legend offers Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, WiFi, USB, micro-USB, and 3.5-mm audio jack. A 1300 mAh battery offers:

Talk time of up to 440 mins (WCDMA) and up to 490 mins (GSM).

Standby time of up to 560 hours (WCDMA) and up to 440 hours (GSM).

HTC had also launched the HTC Desire at the World Mobile Congress 2010. The phone is said to be a version of the Nexus One that HTC has built for Google.

The HTC Desire will be launched in the UK from 26 March, via T-Mobile.

The HTC Desire has all the specs of the Google Nexus One: powerful 1GHz snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, and 5-megapixel camera. However, the HTC Desire comes with an optical trackpad, unlike the Google Nexus One, that comes with a trackball.

Rumor has it that the HTC Desire will go on sale in the US, in May-June 2010.
