Update: HTC has confirmed that the Flyer would get a Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb update once Google makes the OS available to it.
HTC has released a 6-minute video of its upcoming Flyer Android tablet on YouTube.
HTC Flyer is a 7-inch tablet PC that is powered by a 1.5GHz processor and runs Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread OS with HTC Sense UI. The Flyer comes with HTC Scribe technology, so it features a magic pen that can draw, paint, write, and retouch pictures.
Now, days before HTC’s new tablet begins shipping, the company has released a video of its new machine, detailing how its technology is going to assist you in your daily life. We think that the tablet makes quite a compelling case for itself.
Take a look for yourself and don’t miss out the 21st century stylus with amazing utilities:
In January, we told you that HTC Flyer will begin shipping to the United States in March. The Android tablet has since then appeared for pre-order at many e-retailers in U.S., U.K. and Germany carrying a price tag of almost $900 for 32GB memory and 3G capabilities.
At the current exchange rates, HTC Flyer tablet should hit the Indian markets with a price tag of Rs. 45,000. HTC usually is quick to release its products in India and has created a mark for itself in the smartphone segment here.
However, at this price point, we wonder if HTC would be able to woo some fans in India, given that Apple iPad is now selling in India at a price of Rs. 22,000 – Rs. 44,000. This means that the top model of the iPad is priced cheaper than the HTC Android tablet.
Nevertheless, HTC Flyer promises a unique user experience with its HTC Scribe technology and HTC Sense UI. Let’s explore the tablet’s other specifications.
HTC Flyer has a 7-inch touch-sensitive display that gives a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The tablet is portable and convenient to carry around as it weighs only 420 grams. Related: Top upcoming tablet launches of 2011

HTC Flyer has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include Bluetooth, ambient light sensor, G-sensor, digital compass and GPS navigation.
