HTC Desire S smartphone goes on sale in India

HTC Desire S has been launched in India and is available through e-retailers like LetsBuy and Flipkart and all authorized HTC resellers across the country.

The new smartphone by HTC is priced at Rs. 23,999 at LetsBuy, while Flipkart is selling the Android phone at a price of Rs. 23,749. Flipkart will also toss in a DVD of the popular movie Social Network free with your phone.

The Desire S is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and runs Android 2.2 aka Froyo OS (expect an upgrade to Gingerbread) with a new, improved HTC Sense UI. Also see: Cheap and best Android phones in India

The HTC phone sports a 3.7-inch LCD capacitive Gorilla Glass display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The phone’s unibody design comes in an aluminum finish and looks trendy. Related: HTC Incredible S phone in India

HTC Desire S comes with an impressive, all-in-one camera and HD video recorder to capture and replay all your moments in crystal clear clarity. The 5-megapixel rear camera has features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging and image stabilization. You also get a front-facing VGA camera in this 3G-enabled phone for video calls.

The phone ships with 768MB RAM and 1.1GB internal memory, which you can expand up to 32GB via a microSD card. HTC Desire S allows you to wirelessly stream your phone’s content straight to your TV via a DLNA connection. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB 2.0.

The HTC phone has a SNS integration feature and merges all your e-mail accounts together into one inbox so you can see everything on one screen. They are color coded so you know what’s what, and you can sort them by importance, groups or content.
