Google Talk instant messenger coming
Google's instant messenger chat program Google Talk could be out soon.

23 Aug, 2005: Google instant messenger chat is on way, reports the internet media tracking the leading internet search engine. Google had announced earlier this week that it was planning to release a new product this week. The Los Angeles Times reported that it is going to be a Google Instant Messenger, to be named Google Talk. The company has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.
Enthusiast sites and blogs tracking Google comment that Google is has been readying its instant messenger program for sometime, and has been secretly testing it for a month. If the rumours turn out to be true, the Google instant messenger/chat program Google Talk will be up against Microsoft MSN Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Chat and AOL Instant Messenger, besides Apple's iChat.
It is believed that the upcoming Google Talk will run on Jabber, an open source technology.
If Google seriously ventures into the instant messenger business, it will be the logical next sep or the leading internet search engine, which has carefully and successfully diversified into several Net-based businesses. It has launched Froogle online shopping, acquired image editor Picasa, and launched context-sensitive advertising programme AdSense and AdWords. Online news portal Google News is also a success in news aggregation. In the last year, Google has also launched its email service GMail, which provides almost unlimited storage space, among several new features. It has also rolled out the Google Toolbar so you can search without opening the Google search page, and the Google Desktop Search which enables you to search your computer and the Net with a tiny program. Recently, it launched the Google Sidebar, another user-friendly innovation.
The upcoming instant messenger chat program Google Talk is expected to go beyond ordinary instant messenger programs, with enhanced voice chat facilities. If reports are to be believed, the product release could be as early as this week. Google has excelled in all streams of Internet business it has entered. No one expects less than the best from Google Talk either!
