Google Hot Trends to feature top 100 searches in the US

24 May, 2007

Google, the US based search giant, has launched a new feature called Hot Trends, which lets users see what the current top - 100 search queries in the US are. The searches that are in the highest demand will appear as a list in the Google Hot Trends feature.

Google Hot Trends also has a feature, which allows users to see what the top 100 searches were on a specific day.

Google announced in a statement, "Hot Trends is Google's newest tool for users who want to keep their finger on the pulse of what the world is searching for."

Once this new Hot Trends feature is rolled out, Google said it will stop the weekly Google Zeitgeist feature, which shows a manually compiled most popular search list. But just to keep the Zeitgeist feature alive, Google has announced that it will make an year-end Zeitgeist feature for users.

The items on the Hot Trends feature will have news from Google News, blogs and Google web search results.

Google plans to include top searches in the Hot Trends feature from not only the US, but also certain states and cities, may be even some sub-regions, in the future.
