Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MS820, MW702, MW700 launched in India

Taiwan-based Gigabyte has launched three new Gsmart PDA Windows mobile phones in India, the MS820, MW702 and MW700.

The three Gigabyte Gmart PDA Windows mobile , the MS820, MW702 and MW700, are priced at Rs. 36,999, Rs.29,999, and Rs.16,999 respectively.

The Gigabyte MS820 is a business-centric mobile phone with a VGA display panel. The sleek phone comes with a 5-mega pixel camera, equipped with auto focus and detection technology.

The phone features 3.5G technology providing high speed internet connection, face recognition, and an accelerometer.

The Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MS820’s sensors provide best vertical and horizontal screens display allowing users to enjoy their motion sensitive games.

The Gigabyte Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MS820 offers a multimedia center with a photo editor, music player and FM radio. With the GPS tracking feature also available the users can download maps online and can also tags their locations.

Other features of the the Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MS820 phone include Windows Mobile Direct Push email, SMS, MMS, Window Live Messenger and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WAP and USB connectivity.

The phone supports  almost all kind of image and video formats.

The other two Gigabyte Windows mobile phones, the Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MW702 and MW700 phones, are entry-level phones equipped with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, and Smart Touch User Interface.

The phones also come with GPS tracking, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WAP and USB connectivity, Radio, Sim Manager, Recorder, and so on.

“The growth in the hi-end phone segment in India was the fastest. It is this market that we are targeting with our latest smartphones that double up as personal
digital assistant (PDA),” Gigabyte Technology India Pvt. Ltd. Country Head Prabodh Vyas said.

He added that Gigabyte plans to launch other products soon in the Indian market.

“GSmart mobile phones bring together all the features that mobile phone users aspire for — multimedia, business and style. They incorporate the latest mobile technology and represent the next generation of mobile phones that bring high speed communication as well as entertainment at your fingertips,” Mr. Vyas added.

Mr. Vyas also mentioned that these phones will first be introduced in metros and other main cities. The Gsmart PDA Windows , MS820, MW702 and MW700 mobile phones will then be launched in smaller cities and towns in a phased manner.

The company has said that to start with, the Gigabyte Gsmart PDA MS820, MW702 and MW700 phones, will distributed in 8-10 cities by Touch India TeleMarketing.

“We will be increasing our sales force to market our products and also tie-up with leading retail chains and distributors to ensure its availability across the country.

We are also looking at in-shop branding strategy to sell out products. We hope to sell at least 10,000 phones in the current year. The growth potential is immense and we hope to become a major player in this segment,” Vyas added.
