Fujitsu will soon be launching a tablet namely, Fujitsu Stylistic Q550. It comes with a 10 inches of display screen with 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution. The tablet is powered with Intel Z670 Oak Trail processor and runs Windows 7 operating system.

The Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 weighs 1.5 kgs. It comes integrated with an optional active digitizer / pen and user interface layer. The tablet has both front and rear facing cameras. In addition, the Q550 includes 2GB of RAM memory and an integrated 64GB solid state drive. It has a removable battery that gives long hours of battery life. Furthermore, the tablet comes with a stylus and two docking stations.

The company has released a video of the tablet and has tried to differentiate this tablet from other Windows 7 tablet in the markets by playing up its user interface. The company says that Fujitsu’s custom UI attempts to mimic the usability of a hammer, not in that you have to thump it, but in that you automatically recognize how to interact with the tablet. This means, the UI is smart enough and you need not remember about what functions where and how in the tablet.

There is no word on pricing or availability yet. But it will surely have tough time competing with other Windows 7 tablets in the market. Let’s have a look at few of them.

Last year at CES, we saw lot of companies showcasing their latest Windows 7 tablets. Asus has two 10 inch tablets and one that measures 12 inches, lined up for release. Of the ten inch tablets, one runs Android and is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 (ARM based) system on a chip, and the other runs Windows and has an Intel Oak Trail processor. Asus’s ten inch pads are slated for March 2011 release and will cost about $500.

The third, 12 inch device from Asus, is the Eee Pad EP121, which runs on Windows Phone 7 and is powered by a Core i5 processor. Asus Eee Pad EP121 supports USB, has a built in webcam, HDMI port, SD card slot and support for full high definition video playback. According to DigiTimes, Asus also has a line of seven inch ARM processor based models.

LG has launched a new tablet, the E-Note H1000B 10 inch tablet. The device is available in LG’s home market South Korea for about $850. It measures 278.5 x 180.5 x 14.5 mm. E-Note H1000B has a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The tablet comes with a stylus. And it does not have a camera.

LG’s new device has a Broadcom graphic accelerator chip and can display 1080p HD video. LG’s new 10 inch tablet uses a Z530 Intel Atom processor and runs on Windows 7 Starter edition OS; which can be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. The device has 1 GB of RAM that is expandable via SSD cards to 16 GB. LG’s E-Note H1000B connects using Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi b/g/n. E-Note has a G-Sensor and comes bundled with a WiMax router as well as a removable four-cell battery. The device has two USB 2.0 slots.

Much will depend on price. If Fujitsu can be priced in the sub-$700 range, it might excite those looking for a heavy-duty tablet.
