The body of the sleek camera, that is just 22.7 mm thick, comes with a double-coated lacquer finish body for greater protection against accidental falls.

The camera offers a resolution of 10 megapixels.

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR camera features the company’s EXR technology that offers sharper images using an EXR sensor said to be modeled on the human eye.

The camera can switch between three different shooting modes depending on the quality of light. The camera can be switched to High Resolution (HR) mode when the light is strong.

It can be switched to Dynamic Range (DR) mode when the light is strong but contrast and to High Sensitivity and Low Noise (SN) mode for noise-free pictures.

The camera allows users to set any of the three modes as the default mode.

The EXR Auto feature of the Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR can identify six different types of scenes, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Backlit Portrait, Night and Night Portrait, and adjust the focus, color balance, exposure, flash and sensitivity, automatically.

Kenichi Tanaka, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, “FinePix F70EXR buyers will definitely benefit from the EXR Auto feature as it lets the camera do all the hard work allowing the photographer to concentrate on getting the best possible pictures.”

He said that most of the long zoom compact cameras currently available were a cross between the bigger and advanced models and smaller compact models.

“After thorough market research and testing, we have come up with a long zoom compact that’s not only perfect for general family use, but also for prosumers. This is definitely the perfect camera for men and women alike,” Tanaka added.

Other features include Face detection with automatic red-eye removal, dual image stabilization, ultra high sensitivity (up to ISO 12800 at 3-megapixel resolution), High Contrast Wide Viewing Angle LCD, Intelligent flash, and movie mode with sound at 30 fps.

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR camera is available in India at a price of of Rs. 17,999. For its features, that price looks quite reasonable.
