Endless Ideas’ BeBook Neo WiFi e-book reader launched

Endless Ideas has launched the the BeBook Neo, its WiFi e-book reader with access to ebook stores worldwide.

Endless Ideas had launched two models earlier named the BeBook One and the pocket-sized BeBook Mini. The BeBook Neo is a logical extension of these ebook readers.

The BeBook Neo 6-inch eboook reader weighs around 220g including battery and has an internal storage of 512MB flash memory expandable up to 4GB. It also features a 3.5 mm audiojack, a USB 1.1 Port and is powered by 3.7V Li-Ion battery with 950mAh.

The company says that the battery offers around 7000 page turns on full charge.

The e-book reader has a powerful Freescale processor  and features WACOM touchpanel technology that allows users to sketch, mark annotations and mark up texts using the touchscreen.

The BeBook Neo connects to the internet through WiFi and allows users to access Google and Wikipedia, besides shopping for books online. According to the company, BeBook Neo offers 2.5 times faster browsing and operating speeds.

Other important specs include easy e-book store access, which helps users to go to the Neo e-book portal and purchase books from wherever you want to. Users can click on a world map available on the site to view books that they can order from the country of their choice.

The open architecture of the BeBook Neo makes it possible to expand its capabilities. The BeBook Neo also allows users to adjust fonts and font sizes.

Their company website claims that compared to the Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader (Sony PRS series) and other handheld ebook reader devices, the BeBook ebook reader offers over 20 file formats including pdf, mobi, prc, epub, lit, txt, fb2, doc, html, rtf, djvu, wol, ppt, mbp, chm, bmp, jpg, png, gif, tif, rar, zip, and mp3.

All BeBook models use electronic ink.

Other features include an easily accessible book library menu, built-in menu language support for English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Chinese, Russian, Greek, Ukraine, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Bulgarian, Estonian and Polish.

The BeBook Neo allows users to add a bookmark to a page, zoom the page, sort their libraries by title, filename or size and play mp3 files and audiobooks.

The Neo comes with a USB cable, a free leathercase, earphones and a screw driver.

The BeBook Neo is now available on pre-order at a price of $314 including shipping charges.
