Italian auto major Ducati Motor has picked India’s Tata Consultancy Services for a multi year, multi-million dollar deal for its technology based services aimed at enhancing customer responsiveness and business efficiency.
According to TCS top brass, Tata Consultancy Services has inked the agreement with Ducati. The deal is in such a way that the first assignment is an ERP engagement for Ducati Motor Holding and its subsidiaries in Europe.
It is believed that TCS’s partnership with Ducati will bring to the fore et another instance of cutting edge technology services that the Indian major provides to players in different industrial segments.
News sources added that Ducati expects the work being done by TCS would help it respond to customers and react to the evolving business environment. It is being said that the strategic deal will help Ducati effectively use TCS’ expertise to boost its global presence. The partnership is also seen as enhancing the value of both brands and products.
The strategic partnership between the two majorsĀ is significant due to the fact that the project is aimed at providing technology boost and also enhancing efficiency in the areas of Supply chain management, it has been said. As per this, TCS will help Ducati put in place a SAP platform that will drive quantum improvement in supply chain management, in areas of forecasts, inventory levels and optimized production plans and overall reduced logistics costs, said a report.
Ducati officials have been quoted as saying that it is important for the Italian major to remain outstanding in what it does. The company looks forward to the expertise of TCS and aims at improving products and efficiency.
Significantly, this is the latest auto major that is joining hands with TCS. Ferrari had partnered TCS earlier. Meanwhile, Ducati has been partnering several IT companies in the United States to have them help in its technology innovations.
