Dell Sparta netbook tablet, Dell Athens netbook soon

Dell will launch two new netbooks, the Dell Sparta and Dell Athens, in the fall of 2010, according to a leaked Dell roadmap.Details are very thin on the ground, but reports say that the Dell Sparta netbook tablet will have a 11-inch, swiveling TFT display screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

It will be powered by an ARM processor. Other specifications of the Dell Sparta netbook include 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth optional connectivity modules.

It is not known if the Dell Sparta netbook tablet will run on Android or Linux.

The leaks have also revealed that, apart from the Dell Sparta, Dell will launch another netbook in the same time frame, the Dell Athens. This netbook will weigh less than 0.9kg. The Dell Athens will also have an ARM processor at its core and offer 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth optional connectivity modules.

The Dell Sparta is expected to be launched in July 2010, while the Dell Athens will hit the shelves in November 2010.

Other launches on the anvil include the Dell Looking Glass Pro and Dell Streak Android tablets. The Looking Glass Pro will feature a 7-inch SVGA TFT display screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It will offer an HD screen, digital TV tuner, and WiFi.

The Dell Streak will be launched in three versions – in the US, EU, and China – via T-Mobile, Vodafone, and China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile, respectively. The Dell Streak, that was expected to be launched at CES 2010, will have a 5-inch display screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 5-megapixel camera, 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

As per the leaked roadmap, the Dell Streak will be available in the US and EU in as early as May 2010, and in China, later in 2010.

There is no information about the price of the Dell Sparta, Athens, Looking Glass Pro, and Streak.
