The ‘o’ factor might surprise many. Reportedly, the name Ophone will be used as a brand by China Mobile, under which it will bring out a number of Android devices in the future.

The Dell Ophone mini 3i smartphone will run the same, “customized for China” Android OS used by the Lenovo Ophone some time back. Some view it as promotion of google’s operating system, Android.

The Dell Ophone mini 3i smartphone comes with a resolution of 640 x 360 ( with 16:9 ratio) and would use China’s own 3G signal. It has not established as yet if it is a GSM band phone.

One report says that China Mobile has employed its own D-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) 3G network for the phone.

The name comes as a result of China Mobile’s plan to promote its future handsets that would be launched under the same “Open Mobile System.” Not many details

are available about the phone; the images too are not clear enough to define the features of the phone.

There is no information available about the cost of the Dell Ophone mini 3i phone, either.
Reports say that the Dell Ophone mini 3i phone will be launched in mid-August 2009.

boygeniusreport.com has reported that the Dell Ophone mini 3i smartphone will be launched alongside two other Ophones, the Lenovo O1 and the Dopod A6188.

Earlier in 2009, China Mobile had said they want to enter the Indian market. But they would need to enter into a partnership with a new licensee to do.

The company did not elaborate on its India plans.
