Dell launches new range of
Latitude laptops

Dell, the US desktop and laptop maker,
has released the new range of Latitude
laptops, which promises better battery
life, good connectivity and advanced
configuration. The new range of
latitude laptops was unveiled on
Thursday.
The new range of Latitude laptops are
based on the Intel and AMD processor
platform and are equipped with
technologies to ensure better battery
life and advanced wireless
technologies. Dell Asia Pte Ltd
Director Christine Rand, said, "The
Latitude D630 and D830 are designed on
Intel platform while D531 notebook is
based on AMD processors which will
help in simplifying operations and
improving productivity.''
The Dell D630 laptop which is based on
the Intel platform provides up to 9
hours of battery time, which makes a
huge difference with the earlier
versions of the same series.
Dell is also planning to offer the
Latitude D430 ultra-mobile notebook
and Precision M4300 in the next few
weeks.
The price for the Latitude D630 laptop
is Rs 58,012 while D830 costs Rs
63,769 and D531 at Rs 52,618.
Dell's manufacturing facility at
Chennai will be operational by July
and will be first used for producing
laptops for the domestic market. At
the moment Dell is mainly
concentrating in the corporate segment
but soon plans to make a move into the
small and medium business segments for
which a study is currently going on in
the Chinese market.
