Dell, the US-based laptop maker, has announced the launch of the Dell Adamo XPS, its latest ultra-slim premium laptop model, in the Indian market.

The Dell Adamo XPS laptop is a stunner with its minimalistic design and its neat 9.99-mm thinness. The Dell Adamo XPS, with dimensions of 340 x 273.9 x 9.99 mm, is said to be the slimmest laptop in the world.

Dell’s engineers have brilliantly reinvented the conventional design of a laptop by relocating key components, and fitting the keyboard inside the reinforced display when closed, to accomplish the Adamo XPS’s thin look.

The laptop can be opened by just a stroke of the finger. Blue lights show that the laptop is open.

Alex Gruzen, senior vice president of Dell consumer products, said, “Our engineers and designers are breaking new ground and throwing away the old rules with the introduction of Adamo XPS. We think the Adamo XPS will inspire an emotional connection with anyone who sees it.”

The company has used Elezygology’s TZ Intevia technology to design the unique opening mechanism.

The Dell Adamo XPS laptop has a 13.4-inch widescreen 16:9 LED HD display and a full keyboard with metallic key caps.

The laptop is powered by an 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low-voltage processor and runs the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition operating system.

It has 800MHz Dual Channel DDR3 memory, built-in WiFi with specifications of 802.11n, and a 128GB solid state drive.

Other specifications of the Dell Adamo XPS laptop include an integrated 2-megapixel webcam and integrated mono digital microphone, IO: DisplayPort, 2 USB 2.0, headphone connector and headphone, standard connectors via external dongle: RJ45, and DVI.

The laptop offers a location awareness feature that tells users their exact location with the use of a special Windows 7 gizmo.

The standard battery offers up to only 2 hours and 36 minutes of battery life, but customers can go in for an extended battery back that provides 5 hours and 17 minutes of battery life.

The Dell Adamo XPS laptop will be available at a price of Rs 1,50,000.
