Creative Zen X-Fi2 touch screen media player launched in India

Creative has launched its Zen X-Fi2 touch screen media player in India.

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 will be available in 8GB/16GB/32GB at the following prices:

8GB: Rs. 7,000
16GB: Rs. 9,500
32GB: Rs. 12,000

The slim Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player has a 3-inch TFT LCD touch screen with 262,000 colour support.

The media player that measures 102 x 57 x 11.6mm and weighs only 75gms, works in landscape mode.

Main menu icons are displayed on the screen of the media player. Users can arrange the icons on the screen according to their preferences.

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player supports MP3, WMA(DRM9), Audible4, AAC, Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) audio formats, and WMV9, MPEG4-SP, DivX** 4/5, XviD video formats.

The media player also supports iTunes Plus that compresses audio data much more efficiently than older formats.

Photo formats supported are JPEG and BMP.

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player comes with a video-out feature that allows users to view videos and photos on TV through an A/V cable that is available separately.

Some other features include integrated speakers, integrated microphone for voice recording, built-in FM radio with 32 presets, and a microSD memory card slot.

Joseph Liow, Vice President, Personal Digital Entertainment Products of Creative Technology Ltd, said, “To achieve a sleeker design, we’ve incorporated a microSD slot compared to the larger SD slot on the Zen X-Fi. The ZEN X-Fi2 is also substantially slimmer than the ZEN X-Fi, plus the overall feel of the player in your hand is improved by its curved design.”

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player is equipped with X-Fi audio technology. The X-Fi Crystalizer feature restores lost detail and enhances audio clarity.

The X-Fi technology can intelligently moves a conventional left/right earphone stereo source away from the ears, expanding it for a better audio experience, the company has said.

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player enables RSS feeds to be downloaded with text and images. Users can use the USB connection to download the feeds from their PCs.

The Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player will come with EP-630 in-ear headphones in three different sizes of ear tips.
