Interead has announced that its next generation of the Cool-er ereader, that will be launched in mid-2010, will be equipped with Wi-FI and 3G connectivity.
The current Cool-er ereader was launched in May 2009.

The Cool-er ereader supports books in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Russian, Japanese and traditional and simplified Chinese. The Cool-er ebook reader is compatible with both PC and Mac and supports pdf, epub, fb2, rtf, txt, html, prc, jpg, and mp3 formats.
The Cool-er ereader looks like a paperback and uses E-Ink that gives the text on screen a “likepaper display” the company has said.
It comes in eight colors: Ruby Red, Blue Sky, Cool Pink, Hot Pink, Silver Shine, Vivid Violet, Racing Green, and Black Jack.
The ereader has a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, and weighs 178 grams.
It is powered by the Samsung S3C2440 ARM 400MHz processor and comes with 128MB RAM and 1GB storage expandable via microSD card.
The Cool-er reader offers a battery life of 8000 pages for a single charge.
Interead has also entered into a partnership with NewspaperDirect Direct that will allow it to to offer over 1,300 newspapers and magazines to Cool-er readers via the current Cool-er book reader and the to-be-launched Cool-er 3G and Wi-Fi models.
The next generation Cool-er ebook reader will be launched exclusively via AT&T.
There have a slew of ereader launches in the past few months. First there was the Amazon Kindle followed by the Barnes & Noble Nook, the Sony ereader, and the Intel Reader.
