Logitech ClearChat PC wireless headset to debut in May 20089 March 2008 Computer peripheral specialist Logitech has made its foray into the wireless headset market, in its bid to make the most of the rapid growth of VoIP communications around the world. ClearChat PC is Logitech’s first wireless stereo headset designed for Internet calling with a PC. ClearChat uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology and a USB transmitter to deliver a cordless link that's effective at up to a distance of 33 feet from the computer. The plug-and-play unit is compatible with both PC or Mac. The Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless is likely to debut in the United States and European markets in May 2008 and is likely to cost around $99.99. The headset comes with a
noise-canceling microphone on a
flexible boom, and volume and
microphone mute controls are located
on the right earpiece. With the Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset, people can make a PC call while grabbing a snack, sitting on the couch or leaning back in their chair, a report said, quoting Logitech officials. An increasing number of people are making voice calls over the Internet as of today. So far the options have been limited to wired headsets that keep them chained to their personal computers or wireless headsets that offer poor audio and voice quality. The advent of the Logitech ClearChat PC is expected to reduce the Net calling hassles to a great extent.
