Google Chrome Operating System (OS), the first operating system from Google, will be out in a year. Google announced this at a press meet today.

Internet Explorer 9, the latest version of Microsoft's web browser, is in the works. Steven Sinofsky, Microsoft's head of Windows and Windows Live announced this at the Windows Professional Developers' Conference today. No photographs, images or screenshots were made available, but the company released some bare minimum details about the new Windows browser, the Internet Explorer 9.

Google Image Swirl released on Google Labs today, the latest search adventure by the search giant. Google Image Swirl is a modification of Google Image Search, which is running for the last eight years.

YouTube Direct, a YouTube service that allows you to directly send video clips to news website editors, has been launched. YouTube Direct has already roped in Huffington Post, Politico, San Francisco Chronicle and NPR for the service.

TwitterPeek, the world’s first Twitter-only device has been launched. Peek, the maker of TwitterPeek, already makes email and text-only devices under the brand name Peek Pronto.

The internet and search engine leader Google Incorporated has said its third-quarter profits have gone up from a year ago, propelled mainly by higher revenues from advertising.

Google Chrome OS, the operating system from Google is in the works. Google said in an official blog post on Tuesday that the open source Google Chrome Operating system will be available for sale in the middle of next year. Google Chrome operating system is expected to be nimble, lightweight and heavily web-based.
